Budding young chefs are invited to cook up some simple and exciting recipes, using some
fab seasonal ingredients,
and try some gastronomic experiments, helping the kids to learn invaluable culinary skills while sampling their own tasty treats. On Friday, Lorna from Love Pure Cakes will create tasty cakes, and budding young chefs will help her choose healthy ingredients and taste the yummy results. 13.30 daily
Edinburgh School of Food & Wine
Exclusively for Foodies Festival, ESFW will be demonstrating the tips and techniques used to create perfect Italian creations. One of their experienced tutors will be making butternut squash ravioli with traditional caponata, with enough for everybody to taste! Not only will they demonstrate this recipe, but ESFW will be letting you in on some insider tips at the same time. 14.30 daily, Fri & Sat 17.30, Sun 16.30
Caledonian oysters
The expert oyster shuckers at Caledonian Oysters will show you how to open an oyster effortlessly, then you can try it for yourself. You can also taste one, if you dare! Learn different serving techniques and pick up some new recipe ideas. Oysters are delicious fresh, but even better cooked!
Cheese Tasting
